A car battery gives 12 volts, so does your PSU. If your amp uses more than around watts you"ll want to use multiple molex connectors, because a single gauge wire might not be able to hold all the charge needed for the entire amp, causing it to heat up and possibly melt. There is a method to the madness; if you unplug all your drives and your video card, you should be able trace all the wires back to 2 or 3 bunches unless you have a modular PSU, in which I"m not sure how this would work , you"ll want to connect the amp to as many bunches as you can. This way you"re effectively dividing the charge on each wire and sometimes making it easier on your PSU , if it works correctly. If you do two or more connectors on a particular bunch, your not gaining much because the charge will still have to go through the single wires that come out of the PSU, which is what you"re trying to avoid in the first place. Remove your side panel unless your using an independent PSU Step 2: Make sure that there"s just bare wire at the end of all of the wires coming from your amp.

Great sound - kicks butt!! I bought two of the tops and two matching Kustom subs about 18 months ago. I have now used the system for a few DJ gigs, mixing for two bands and then using the Read complete review I bought two of the tops and two matching Kustom subs about 18 months ago. I love the punch I get from the Kustom 1x12 - powered subs.
This system has not failed once.
A typical car stereo can power four speakers (two front and two rear). You"ll need to identify the wires on the car stereo"s wire harness to connect to the correct ones. To hook up two front stereo speakers, connect the white/black and white wires to the left speaker, and the gray/black and gray wires to the right speaker.
But what the manufacturer is not showing you is the bandwidth vs. Quality of bass and how well it integrates into a system is paramount. If I have to sacrifice a bit of extension and SPL to achieve this, so be it. The Set-Up I left my EP towards the left front corner behind my couch as it has been for the past 3 years. I placed one EP on top of it and the other EP diagonally located towards the back right of the room.
Luckily the distance between both EP s was relatively equal to the primary listening area making it much easier to integrate them and not have to worry about bass cancellations due to mismanaged time alignment between the two subs. I checked the phase and found they integrated best with both subs set to 0 degrees default. I always recommend using symmetry when placing your subwoofers relative to the primary listening area. The Analysis When setting up subwoofers in a home theater system, I always measure the response to ensure I am at least in the ballpark for great bass.
I run sweeps using LMS or my Sencore SP C Audio Analyzer, adjusting placement, crossover settings, phase and electrical distance until I measure the most linear response at my two primary listening positions. After level matching the EP and two EP s, I was ready to do a direct comparison between them integrated into my family room theater.

get a car battery and hook it up that way, or get a power box the kind that u use to power a house cb radio. when i check stuff like that out in the house i use a motorcycle battery charger. but before i got that i used a spare car battery. just becare full not to fry anything. as for an amp kit for your amp i would use a 4 ga kit. you should also look into getting a 1 or a farad capactior.

After the Magic Village closed I had to find somewhere to spend my late-night weekends. I tried the Continental club and at??? Pantry on Cannon Street and didn"t like. Well, there are a few aspect you have to keep into account. However i doubt a fan of orchestra is going to need a watt system. And in the end will give you a price range. Obviously Rap, of course is the number one, music type associated with subwoofer systems. For my need i really dont need much watts.
Apr 30, · My question is can I connect the cub2 to the rear speakers using the speaker terminals on the back of the sub? I do not want to use the other sub-output on the integra because I fear that adding the little sub which has a low end of 40hz would greatly diminish the capabilities of .
Let me say right up front that you only need to read this article if you are lucky enough that your group is getting bookings in large or outdoor venues. But if you have a good set of main PA speakers that are starting to sound strained at those large gigs, you might want to think about a next logical step. You can send comments, questions, or scathing diatribes to Larry at lmundy attbi. As I said at the end of that article, the result worked great. This requires PA speakers and amps that can reproduce a full spectrum of sound.
For most folks with a decent PA setup, this means simply adding subwoofers and subwoofer amps to extend the low range of the overall system. By their nature, subwoofers are big, heavy things, with giant speakers in thick-walled cabinets, and need to be powered by big, heavy amplifiers.

I just don"t see the 8" sub being as effective. The little sub can contribute a bit more SPL to the bass, as mentioned, but that"s about it. Everything else IMO, it"s just gong to get in the way.
Subwoofer Set Up and Optimization. Step 2: Connecting the Subwoofer. Once you have your subwoofer positioned properly in your room, it"s time to connect it to your A/V receiver.
Hey guys, Will this fit under a seat? The space is very shallow. The stock woofer magnet is on top of the cone so it can fit. Why don"t u take out the stock a measure it. Before u buy the new one. Guest Hey guys, Will this fit under a seat? Probably the"only" fit to replace our subs!: I"ve read through lots of threads so I know I"m going to get the signal for the amp from the subs under the seat.
My question is, where do I tap into the lines?? Under the seats at the subs or in the trunk at the amp? I"m lost on that.
Do I need to worry about my amp being too powerful for my speakers : audiophile
Podcasting , Technology Any system is only as good as the weakest link in the chain and audio systems are certainly no exception to the rule. Attaching speakers to your Hi-Fi system usually only requires a few cables. These potential problems are easy to spot with a few simple tests and luckily the corresponding remedies are equally simple. Left and Right Tests In the grand scale of things, getting your left and right speakers mixed up is not a major problem.
Record producers and mix engineers spend weeks mixing and producing an album and as part of the process they will decide where in the mix to place certain instruments. Then try the following two fairly self explanatory tests on your music system.
Feb 18, · I edited my first post, I meant to say I run the MONITORS through Aux 1. For the sub, I am running bridged mono 8ohm on my Crown On my Crown I am running the mains on one channel @ 4ohms, and 2 monitors on the other channel @ 4ohms.
If you have a car audio subwoofer that is not used in your car, you may want to install it in your home to enhance your home stereo or theatre system. This is a relatively easy task and does not require any special skills. Before attempting this install, be sure that you have some RCA wires, speaker wire, and the correct voltage power supply that the subwoofer needs.
After you have assembled these materials, you can then begin your installation procedures. Place your Tools The most basic step in any type of installation or repair job is to make sure that you have all of the tools you will need and put them in a position for easy access. In this case, you will need wire strippers, a flathead screwdriver, and the items listed above. After tools are properly assembled, you are ready to begin. Place the Amp You should begin this process by placing your amplifier in the position that it will stay in.
You will be attaching speaker wire and RCA cables and you need to get the distance correct before you begin cutting and stripping. A good rule of thumb is to measure the distance needed for the amplifier as well as your speakers and cut an extra twelve to eighteen inches more. Installing the Power Supply It is now time to install your power supply. You will need to make sure that your power source can be plugged into a volt outlet, and the power can then be converted to twelve volts of direct current.

What is the color coding for the stereo wires in a dodge neon? Polarities should be accurate either way, just use the coding listed above for whatever color wiring goes to your speakers. The goal is to get the best balance of deep bass from the sub and still have the mid and upper bass from the speakers in equal proportions (adjust the subwoofer volume control in each new position).
Subwoofer Setup Part I: Placement and positioning While a subwoofer"s deep bass is nondirectional, it would be unwise to just stick the sub anywhere that"s convenient in your room. Corner placement is the de facto strategy for most people, possibly because the sub will then be out of the way and almost always produces the most bass, but corner placement may not yield the most accurate bass, or smoothest transition to the speakers.
The sub and speakers have to work together as a team, and ideally you should never hear the sub as a separate sound source. All of the bass should appear to come from the speakers. With small speakers, it"s best to keep the sub within 3 or 4 feet of the front left or right speakers. Once the sub is a lot farther away, it will be harder to maintain the illusion the bass is coming from the speakers.
For really small speakers or skinny sound bars, keep the sub as close as possible to the speaker s. If you have larger speakers with 4-inch or larger woofers , some placement experimentation may be useful; play a CD with lots of deep bass and keep repeating the track as you move the sub to all of the visually acceptable locations in your listening room. You"ll be amazed just how different the bass sounds in different locations -- some will be muddy, some will sound louder, and some will reduce the bass volume.

Whether it"s an installation that might not have gone as planned, or a random problem that comes out of nowhere. Here is a list of your common car stereo problems, symptoms and solutions to help get your stereo up and running! Many Jeeps and Chevrolet systems have a data signal wire that carries a very low voltage signal that tells the OEM Head Unit when to turn on, however; it is not compatible with aftermarket units.
As you can see, the two speakers are in “series” with the each other. How to Connect 2 speakers in Parallel and Series. Below is a table showing how to wire up two speakers in parallel and series for common scenarios.
Every car audio installer, indeed, every automotive professional, will always recommend this first step: You want to do this in order to avoid any possibility of a short circuit. Remember that on many late-model vehicles, you will need a"radio code" in order to reactivate the radio. Amplifier Location Presuming that your car or truck has an existing stereo sound system and that you are interested in installing one or two amplifiers as an upgrade, the next step will be to decide the mounting location for the amp.
Mount an amplifier less than three feet from the car"s radio or bolt it directly to the vehicle"s metal chassis, and you"ll hear a lot of annoying static, buzzing, and humming over your music. While mounting an amplifier in trunk or hatchback areas is usually a good idea, securing it in an upside-down position as seen here is not. To make sure heat can rise out of the amp and escape, make sure ventilated slats are facing up or to the side — not down. Amplifiers have slotted cooling fins on their surface to release internal heat that builds up.
Power amps can get quite hot to the touch. When you select a location, make sure the cooling fins have plenty of space around them to dissipate heat which will radiate upward. The fins should face the sides or top of the amp. Mounting an amplifier upside down is a no-no, because the cooling fins will be on the bottom and dissipated heat will radiate back up inside the amplifier unit where it can"t escape.
